Four Rules to Remember in a Car Accident

  1. Move to the side of the road, check that all of your passengers are safe and help anyone who is injured;
  2. Give your name, address and insurance information from your car to the other driver.  Obtain the same information from the other driver;
  3. Obtain the names, addresses and telephone numbers of all witnesses to the accident; and
  4. Contact the local police and ask them to come to the accident. Give the responding police officer your name, address and insurance information.  If the police write a report for the accident, obtain the report number and the address  to request this report.
